What to look for — bus drivers

Check 15 minutes before client boarding.

Alcohol / Drugs

Smell, red eyes, slurred speech, unsteady walk

DO NOT BOARD — call replacement

Fatigue

Yawning, rubbing eyes, slow reactions

Ask: “Hours slept?” (under 7 hrs = NO)

What to look for — activity operators

Check on arrival at site (e.g. rafting, caving, helicopter).

Impairment

Alcohol smell, unsteady, slow

STOP ACTIVITY — call Ops

Gear

No helmets, torn harnesses, expired life jackets

Refuse until replaced

Guide quick checklist (tick & go)

Immediate action if red flag

  1. STOP client handover.
  2. Contact the Ops Manager on 0274 966 111.
  3. Do NOT proceed until Ops approves a replacement.
